A great invention made it possible for Caruso to produce his first
record in the year 1902.In 1887 E.
Berliner registered his invention of the gramophone.The
huge success of Caruso's records led to the following:the gramophone
became an important music instrument music instrument and therefore
many singers made records of their own as well Berliner's gramophone company had the label "His Master's Voice".In
1931 they joined Columbia Gramophone Company to become EMI.Still today
there a Foxterrier adornes the label.This was the birth of a new branch.
Enrico Caruso's fee was so high that a manager paid it himself because
the comany wasn't able to pay it. The records were the first sound carriers which were sold by the thousands
all over the world. Therefore Caruso became extremely popular.Suddenly
you could buy Caruso's voice,listen to it in your flat whereas the star
lived on the other side of the Antlantic.You could still listen to him
after his death.His life and
arts.seemed eternal. Caruso was the first artistic superman,cherished
like God,and persecuted.He set a new standard and he has made work for
till today.At the end of 20th century his new CD,"Caruso 2000"
came out:the RSO Symphony Orchestra Vienna accompanied the tenor-even
eighty years after his death.
